We are officially in the middle of summer, and with the heat and the amount of time we spend outdoors running around and having holiday adventures, our bodies crave something sweet and cool to recover.

Ice-creams are calling!

Unfortunately, most of the ones we can buy out there are packed with bad sugars and saturated fats and many times more water than milk or cream.

So here's a healthy alternative you can try at home and have every day if you'd like, even for breakfast!


Ingredients: (you will need some sort of blender)

  • 3 bananas

  • ½ a can of coconut milk or coconut yogurt

  • A handful of crushed ice

  • A cup of mixed berries (sliced strawberries, cranberries and blueberries)

  • Dark chocolate shavings

  • A small leaf of mint


How to:

Peel the bananas, cut them in small pieces and throw them inside the blender (or put them in a bowl if you are using a manual one), drop the ice and the coconut milk or yoghurt. Mix.

Some people like it just like this, as a coconut and banana ice-cream, you can sprinkle some chocolate shavings on top and enjoy it like that. Or you can add the berries into the blender and keep mixing, then add the chocolate shavings and the small leaf of mint as decoration.
