So the internet tells me that it's not 2016 anymore. Apparently the 90s are back and with them, the tracksuit.
Many brands and designers seem to want to bring back that item that once upon a time was the trendiest.
I don't know how to say this with tact, so I'm going to have to be straight about it: Leave the tracksuits at home!
They were tossed and forgotten (or so I thought!) for a reason. No one, and I mean no one, should have brought them back to life. What were they thinking? I don't know.
Was it Kanye? Or was it just a compendium of general bad decisions from all of us?
Whatever summoned it, we must find a way to put them to rest again.
When was the last time you saw a tracksuit being part of an elegant outfit? Exactly, very rarely, possibly never.
Tracksuits should be left for long treks, the gym (only if you don't find anything else to wear), and perhaps zombie apocalypses.
If you are a man, they will instantly make you look dress down in an unflattering way. And if you are a woman, the risk of camel toe showing and general tackiness is just too high.
I'm not saying it's completely impossible to pull it off, but the chances are so low that I'm not sure it's worth the risk.
What do you need a tracksuit for anyway if you have so many other kind of trousers to choose from?
I feel like when I heard about Speedos coming back all over again. The stress of potential bad decisions is real!
Okay, I might be joking a little bit. But only a little. Unless it's your only option available, please do leave the tracksuit at home! Or better yet, don't buy one, that way you will avoid temptation!
